Canoeing in the Teifi Valley from holiday cottage West Wales

Last weekend my old canoeing buddy and his wife came for a visit, so while the girls went shopping we loaded the open canoe on the car and went canoeing.

West Wales has great canoeing and kayaking facilities.  Llandysul paddlers are just 2 miles away from our holiday cottages and are located on the Llandysul River Teifi white water rapids.  They offer adventure days, canoeing and kayaking.  

We set off for Cilgerran , well known for its castle overlooking The Teifi River gorge.  We launched the canoe and set off for Cardigan. Along the way we marvelled at the scenery, the wildlife and bird song soundtrack: Squirrels, bullfinches and great views of Cilgerran Castle. 

About an hour or so later we arrived in Cardigan a beautiful estuary and another scenic castle guarding the town’s bridge. Cardigan was our get out point before returning home to our holiday cottage for a barbeque and a couple of beers.
