Cardigan Bay boat trip from New Quay Wales

The other week I as part of a marine mammals course I went out on a boat trip from New Quay to spot the Cardigan Bay bottle-nosed dolphins & grey seals.

It was a glorious sunny West Wales day and we spotted lots of dolphins including some riding the bow wave of our boat.  Magical, no matter how many times I see them! Sadly were a bit too quick for me to get any good photos.

The grey seals, Cardigan Bay’s other commonly seen marine mammals were also out and about seeing what we were up to.

Just south of New Quay is the appropriately named Bird Rock where thousands of sea birds nest on the steep cliffs.  We saw lots of gulls, kittiwakes, razor bills and guillemots in great numbers.
