Spring bird watching in Wales

This little beauty came to join our tea break. I was not sure what it was so took a photo and consulted a bird book. It is a young Robin; apparently young ones do not develop a red breast until the autumn.

A happy holiday maker

This “cute puppy” was full of fun and a nimble escape artist. The Farmhouse holiday cottage has a fully enclosed garden and terrace. The terrace however has a convenient height wall which this little chap found to be a convenient stepping stone!

We are back on Blog after our motor home dog friendly holiday

We had a month on the road through France, Luxemburg, Germany and Austria to Italy and back. Here our dogs (Charlie & Hamish) are hanging out in Pisa near the leaning tower!

Yesterday we had a really nice day out visiting one of the most spectacularly sited Welsh castles Carreg Cennen. Located a few miles south-east of Llandeilo less than an hour from Stallion Valley holiday cottages.

High winds are good for log fires

Like the rest of the UK here at Stallion valley holiday cottages we have had the odd drop of rain and high winds. It can be a bit boring but on the positive side fallen trees give us the chance to play lumberjacks and gather some firewood.

New waterproof camera trial on local beach

Cei Bach beach, dog friendly beach has acres of dog friendly sand and is just a few minutes’ drive away from our holiday cottages. The camera worked fine but as you can see Hamish did not think the waves were very dog friendly.
