Coastal walking: Welsh wildlife enjoying the sunshine

Wonderful Ceredigion Coastal path scenery plus wildlife in the spring sunshine. Lots of birds, we spotted over 15 different types of wid flowers, seals, dolphins, an alexander beetle and a snake, a sun bathing adder. Photo dolphin carving Aberporth!

Buzzards soaring: Holiday cottage bird watching Wales

After high winds mid-week, bringing temperatures down, spring has sprung this afternoon. Hopefully we are in for a sunny weekend here in West Wales. Buzzards are soaring on the hot air thermals and having a wonderful time.

Holiday cottage owners’ day out : Steam railway Aberystwyth

We, along with other holiday cottage owners in Wales, were invited to a day out on The Vale of Rheidol Railway. The railway is between Aberystwyth and Devils Bridge and the 12 mile, 1 hour journey is through one a Wales’ most beautiful valleys.

Holiday cottage dog, Xander fetches his last ball

Yesterday 13 years young Xander sadly passed away. He was a dog in a million, friendly, full of energy and obsessed with fetching either a sticks or a ball for anyone willing to throw one for him. He even fetched one yesterday.

Holiday cottage local pub appoints new chef

Our local pub, The Gwarcefel Arms, is just a 5 minutes walk away from our holiday cottages in Wales. The pub has a warm welcome for all, including dogs, and serves good traditional pub food from 6- 9pm on Thursday to Saturday nights.

Holiday cottage owners enjoy bird watching on the Wales coastal path

We saw choughs the scarcest of Britain crows only seen on the cliff coasts of Wales. We took this photo of another bird and when we got home identified it as a Wheatear. The wheartears, like our holiday cottage guests, enjoy spring sunshine in Wales.
